Have your say on nature recovery 14 Nov 2024 The County Council seeks comments on draft local nature recovery plan

Oxfordshire County Council has been awarded funding by the Government to develop a local nature recovery strategy (LNRS) and seeks the input of residents and organisations on their draft plan.

The intention is to create a strategy to address the loss of biodiversity in the county and improve natural habitats. It’s hoped strategic, specific projects will improve environments but also have a positive impact on air quality and flood risk, among many other benefits.

Residents have previously shared their comments for this project in phase 1 and 2 of the development process. This is now phase 3, with a draft plan now out for public consultation until 26 November.

Residents can review the documents and share their comments via the website: Oxfordshire's draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) consultation - phase 3 | Let's Talk Oxfordshire There is also an opportunity to identify locations that could be in need of attention.

Following this consultation, a final version of the plan will be published in Spring 2025.

If residents are enthusiastic about nature recovery, we’d direct them towards Eynsham’s Nature Recovery Network. Our NRN is doing a lot of important work in this area and there are many opportunities to get involved. (Join them at their hedge-planting sessions in Eynsham on 1 December and 12 January.)
