Grants for SMEs to be ‘greener’ 11 Oct 2024 District Council grant scheme will support small and medium-sized businesses

West Oxfordshire District Council is currently accepting applications for their new Business Carbon Action Support grant scheme. This money is intended to help small and medium sized businesses reduce their carbon footprint.

Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), grants ranging from £10-20,000 will be given to successful applicants to fund sustainability improvements and help business reduce their energy use (and costs), having a positive impact on the environment.

Eligible projects must focus on capital improvements that promote sustainability, such as installing solar panels, making buildings more energy-efficient, installing EV chargers or purchasing new equipment to enhance recycling efforts.

Interested SMEs must submit proposals by Monday 4 November, outlining projects to be completed by 25 February 2025. Instructions for submission and more information on this grant are available on the District Council website: Project: Business Carbon Action Support | West Oxfordshire District Council (westoxon.gov.uk)

There are also plans to host two online Q&A sessions to help applicants understand the grant scheme and the application process. These will take place on Tuesday 16 October at 4.30pm-5.30pm and Wednesday 17 October at 4pm-5pm. Book your place by emailing business@westoxon.co.uk.
