From September, the Government will be extending the childcare support for eligible parents, providing 15 free hours for children from 9 months old.
This is in addition to the pre-existing support available from the Government, allowing younger children to be covered under the free hours.
For parents hoping to take advantage of this childcare support from September, please be advised that you must make an application online as soon as possible, by the end of August at the latest. The details for applying and eligibility criteria are available on the Government webpage: How to apply for 15 hours free childcare for parents of 9-month- olds – The Education Hub (blog.gov.uk)
Applications can be made online via this page. Successful applicants will receive a code to present to their childcare provider. These codes are only valid for three months, after which another code must be used; make a note to remember to re-apply for your codes in November.
The Government has also announced that the allowance will increase from 15 hours to 30 hours for 38 weeks of the year from September 2025.
