Eynsham Parish Council News

Defibrillator at Sports Pavilion 11 Apr 2023 A defibrillator has been donated to Eynsham by Taylor Wimpey

Eynsham Parish Council is pleased to inform residents that a defibrillator has been installed at the Sports Pavilion after it was kindly donated to the Parish by Taylor Wimpey.

The defibrillator had previously been installed on the Taylor Wimpey building site at Thornbury Green. Now the on-site building works are complete, the equipment has been given to the Parish Council to help protect our community.

The Sports Pavilion was selected as the most appropriate place for this equipment and it has now been installed. The defibrillator has also been registered on The Circuit, the National Defibrillator Network funded by the British Heart Foundation.

This database informs paramedics nationwide of the locations of defibrillators to allow them to access the nearest one in case of an emergency. Ours is connected to the South Central Ambulance Service, for their use as required.

The defibrillator can also be used by any members of the public to save the life of someone having a heart attack. The equipment delivers clear and precise instructions that help guide the user through the necessary steps to take while waiting for an ambulance.

While we hope none of our residents are even in a position to require this equipment, it should offer peace of mind to our community to know that the defibrillator is available locally if an emergency ever arises.
