Grants to support community groups 23 Nov 2021 Community Activity Grants from WODC for groups doing meaningful work – apply by 8 December

West Oxfordshire District Council is offering Community Activity Grants of up to £500 to those working across the district to promote community cohesion, build relationships or promote health and wellbeing for their local residents.

This is part of an effort to support the community groups and projects that sprung up during the pandemic, in recognition of what a valuable part they have played in local life. It is hoped financial support will allow them to continue.

In a statement from the Council, Cllr Jane Doughty, Cabinet Member for Customer Delivery, stressed: “We know there are small groups out there that have provided great benefits for communities, and want to keep that momentum going with community grants for smaller groups to continue this essential work.”

Applications must be submitted by 8 December, with full details available on the website. The District Council has expressed an interest in seeing ideas for projects that would support residents who have experienced barriers to accessing activities or faced struggles with their mental and physical health over the past year.

There are many groups across our Parish doing fantastic work in these areas so we would urge you to apply for this grant scheme. We applaud your efforts and hope such a grant will ensure you can maintain your activity for the good of our community.

Find out more about the Community Activity Grant scheme and access an application form on the West Oxfordshire District Council’s website, by calling 01993 861 000 or emailing community.wellbeing@westoxon.gov.uk.

The Parish Council’s Grant Aid is now closed to applications. Thank you to all who applied. We will have news of the successful applicants in the new year.
