Eynsham Parish Council News

What does the Parish Council do? 1 Nov 2021 This is your opportunity to find out what the Parish Council does, meet the councillors and have a say on the future of Eynsham

How much do you know about what the Parish Council does? Perhaps more importantly, what should the Parish Council be doing – or not?

Saturday 6 November is your chance to find out exactly what the Parish Council is responsible for, meet some of the councillors and hear the plans that are being shaped to maintain the vibrant community we live in over the coming years.

This drop-in, informal community event has been designed to make the experience of engaging with the council easy and, if we’re lucky, enjoyable. Attendees can help themselves to free tea, coffee and cake, peruse some display boards and ask any questions direct to councillors themselves.

Those who join will also be getting the first look at the new Strategic Plan and the opportunity to vote on which projects should be a priority. Should the Parish Council be focusing on the 20mph speed limit or establishing a Youth Council? Are refurbishing the Bartholemew Rooms and rebuilding the Sports Pavilion more important to you than hiring a maintenance man or creating a Green Wheel around the Parish to preserve our green spaces?

After the event – and based on the views of the community – the Parish Council will finalise and share a Strategic Plan that meets the needs and concerns of the people who live here. After all, you are the people the councillors have committed to serve.

The event runs from 10am until 4pm, the venue is the Village Hall and the welcome will be warm. This is a great opportunity to have your say on the future of the Parish – and eat some cake.
