Eynsham Society has lent its skilled gardeners to support the Parish Council's winter maintenance programme, saving us all money and doing their bit for Nature Recovery in Eynsham.
With Cllr Ross Macken on the chainsaw, and a discussion between NRN and Eynsham Society on pruning techniques, their 'local experts' took their secateurs and loppers to the car park of the North Playing Field, to do a gentle prune. The shrubs in the car park are mature and grow slowly so what they need is a light artistic touch to keep them in shape, which is what the Eynsham Society has provided.
Discussions are under way to think about a longer term plan to introduce more native species in this area, which will not only be beautiful but provide habitat for a wider range of wildlife.
