Rotary were worried that the usual Christmas tours and collections would not be able to go ahead this year, but we were able to work around the restrictions and, with the help of various school and PTA members we were able to stage a couple of events and a tour. Firstly we had the virtual ceremony of "Lights On In Eynsham" which was supported by more than 250 households! A very good virtual turnout!
The primary schools at Eynsham and Stanton Harcourt staged events to support Father Christmas and in Cassington, Santa and his reindeer toured the streets to be greeted by many residents and children.
Despite no actual collections we raised some funds for the schools and certainly raised some cheer.
Thanks go to all those at the respective schools for their considerable help in making the events a success and to the elves from the CoOp who supported Santa on his way.
