Oxfordshire County Council received a government go-ahead for this scheme on Friday - read the press release. The government said the cash would ‘unlock’ 5,050 homes to be built in west Oxfordshire.
Reactions have been mixed...
District Council Leader James Mills said ‘This will help ease the daily misery commuters have to endure on the A40 and bring major benefits to the district’s economy.’
Parish Council Chairman Gordon Beach said ‘Building more or bigger roads will never solve this issue. We need a good public transport scheme and people with some imagination.’ Read the Parish Council consultation response.
