I am delighted to be exhibiting this year, however my exhibition will be outside, in the Chicken Run and on the patio. I shall also be joined by 3 other artists. They will be exhibiting on the gravel space in front of the garage. Ros Duffy @rosartofglass with her glass decorative and functional pieces; Cherry Jaquet with her unique Metal Sculpture and Anne Macdonald who paints Seascapes and silk scarves.
Tanners Lane is going to be an exciting place to be. Peter Shrimpton who has limited space in the Queens Head will be placing some of his spectacular sculptures along the lane on the side verges.
Julia Loken, botanical artist 'extraordinaire' is just across the lane. Her eye for the unusual and most effective capture of how a flower blooms or a plant unfolds is mesmerizing. She will be exhibiting in her beautiful garden, which you will be able to sit in and enjoy.
I am looking forward to showcasing my stoneware ceramics both oven safe and frost hardy. Aesthetic and functional in the garden or in the home. I like to throw functional ware and have some new ideas with mixing both wheel-thrown and handbuilt techniques. These all will be set off well in the natural outside light.
. . .and then there is the fun of Raku. Being able to showcase outside I can display the raku kiln and pieces that have been made with local clay and have made it through this crude method of firing.
The doors of the studio will be open so that it will be easy to see the raw clay and the process that a piece of stoneware or raku clay will go through to make a completed piece.
I shall at last be pleased to interact with people and share my passion for MUD!
