Make sure you're registered to vote 21 Aug 2025 Take a moment to check you’re on the Electoral Register

West Oxfordshire District Council will be contacting all households in the coming weeks to ensure everyone who is eligible to vote has been registered.

This is part of something called the Annual Canvass, a period of time when the District Council checks that voter details are up-to-date, ready for the elections in May 2026.

We encourage residents to check their details are correct and that they are registered to vote at their current home address. Even if you’re paying Council Tax, you can’t vote unless you are listed on the Electoral Register. The District Council will be contacting all households by post or email over the coming week about this matter, with information on how to update existing details if necessary.

If residents are not registered at all, please visit the designated webpage and complete a registration form: Register to vote - West Oxfordshire District Council Residents who would prefer a paper registration form can request one by emailing elections@westoxon.gov.uk or calling 01993 861410.

Don’t forget that you now need to take photographic ID with you when you vote. Ensure you have something that will be accepted by checking online: Voter ID - what you need to do - West Oxfordshire District Council
