OCC solicits views on pharmacy 6 Dec 2021 (Eynsham Parish Council) You have until January 2022 to share your thoughts on pharmacy services across the county

Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) is currently undergoing a consultation into the standard of pharmacy services across the county and is inviting opinions from residents via their online survey.

The Parish Council is aware of some local discussion about the standard of pharmacy services in Eynsham and would encourage those with views or experiences they wish to share to consider taking part.

The consultation, which started in November and will run until January, will inform the new Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA). This is conducted every three years to check whether pharmaceutical services continue to meet the needs of the communities within the county and guides the NHS on whether any changes are required. The survey can be completed online until 9 January by visiting the designated PNA 2022 website.

As part of their consultation documents, OCC has published their most recent report (dated May 2021) that shares the experiences of people using pharmacies during the pandemic. The ‘Using Pharmacies in Oxfordshire in 2020’ spoke to 370 people and, while they largely welcomed the role of pharmacies, there were repeated complaints of long waiting times, a lack of stock and lapses in the enforcement of social distancing. Have things improved since then? Let OCC know by completing the survey before the January deadline.

More information, details and documents are available online on the OCC website. For those who struggle to access online surveys or would prefer a paper version to complete, email OCC on [email protected] or call the county council's Customer Services Team on 01865 792422.
