We are very sorry to share that Dr Paul Coffey died peacefully at home with his family by his side on 29 April.
He had been a partner at the Eynsham Medical Group for 36 years, during which time his clear commitment to his patients as well as his colleagues was appreciated by many.
Paul was friendly and welcoming to new members of the team, and fiercely protective of existing staff. He continued to thrive on the challenges of medicine, as well as leading in modernisation in the practice. He was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer in 2016 which led him to retire earlier than he planned, at the age of 66.
After retirement and in spite of his ill health, he continued to lead the local medical charity, undaunted by the move to remote meetings for the past year.
He will be very greatly missed by all of us at Eynsham Medical Group, and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
Paul's funeral will be held at St Laurence Church in Combe on 14 May at 11:30. Due to COVID restrictions the funeral will be a small gathering.
