I also offer children’s parties at a venue of your choice or in my Studio.  I can also visit residential homes for non-glass cutting "Fused Glass Art Experience".

"Glass is such a beautiful medium to work with, the colours, reflections and what you can make with it is expansive.  I enjoy experimentation with glass which means some mornings I open the kiln and it's like Christmas, fortunately on rare occasions, it can be a Nightmare before Christmas!"

A little about Rosalind

Ros started stained glass 19 years ago after she took her Mum to a weekend course at Bartholomew School.  She enjoyed the experience so much, she carried on doing this in a spare room in her house in Dovehouse Close.  After doing several school fayres and selling very well, she expanded and gained a commission for a gentleman in Mayfair London for his restaurant and nightclub.  Making a 6' panel in a tiny spare room was a challenge, but she finished it and was asked to make a further panel for him as well as 40 candle holders.

Glass fusing came on the scene when she was given a Paragon Fusion 8 glass kiln.  It took 5 years to switch it on as she was so scared of it!  Once it was switched on, she was hooked.

Ros moved her workshop to a small building in Crawley Mill in 2014 which she outgrew fairly quickly.  When 6 Swan Street came up for rent the decision was made to move and expand.  She even did an exhibition with her sister, Patricia Bullen-Whatling,who has a degree in fine art, at the Grand Theatre Swansea - "Fusion - Where Art and Glass Come Together" in 2015.

She lost her father in 2016 which meant her Mum, who has Parkinsons and Dementia, would be on her own.  Being independent, her mother would not move in with any of her daughters so a live-in carer was the only option as a Care Home was not.   Due to very poor care, Mum's condition deteriorated and it was impossible for Ros to concentrate fully on her business and be at the studio regularly, which she understands must have been incredibly frustrating for customers.

Once the decision was made to change care providers, things have turned around and her Mum is being looked after very well and is at last reasonably happy, which has meant Ros is happier and can now concentrate on her business again.

So the conservatory built at the back of her house for her to bring the business home is now a lovely conservatory for relaxation and the business is staying put at Swan Street.

To celebrate this Ros is having an Open Day on Saturday, 28th July, 2018 from 1000-1600.  She would very much like to welcome you to her studio which has had a revamp so local handcrafters can sell their work with her.
