Hosted by Refugees Welcome in Eynsham as part of Refugee Week
This exhibition is Ania’s personal story of a trip to Calais that was both heart-breaking and heart-lifting. Ania captures these moments and emotions in her images from La Liniere refugee camp in Northern France and Help Refugees and L’Auberge warehouse in Calais.
Photographs from La Liniere refugee camp in Northern France give insight into a European refugee camp and its living conditions. Viewers will get a sense of the hardship and deprivation of living in such places and feel the emotional impact on women and children. Juxtaposed are photographs of her fellow volunteers at Help Refugees and L’Auberge warehouse. They show the remarkable response of people from Oxfordshire and beyond to the refugee crisis who were volunteering in the camp - working in the warehouse, preparing meals in the Refugee Community Kitchen, and chopping up wood for cooking and keeping warm, for example. Please come!
