The Parish Council is publishing a new Eynsham Directory this spring - look out for copies at the Community Open Day on 10 May.

Eynsham Directory 2014 went to print on 23 April, with delivery to every home in the village supported by a generous grant from Abbey Properties. Like the 2012 Diamond Jubilee edition, it will cover:

  • 110+ clubs, classes, societies and support groups
  • 250+ local businesses - every service you can imagine on your doorstep!
  • all you need to know about public services, especially local government.

  • The background image comes from a county map by John Speed, circa 1627: a fascinating snapshot of an age when the ‘Roll-rich Stones’ were thought to stand mid-way between ‘Longhanboro’ and ‘Enesham’. For more local maps see our feature page.
  • The Parish Council has published occasional directories since 1974, though wider access to the internet may reduce the need in time.
  • The Eynsham & District Almanac 1898 reveals a much smaller village, with a handful of notable families supporting the societies, churches and chapels.
