Wharf Stream Way Update 18 Jul 2016 Local artist Godfrey Phillips has been commissioned to carve a wooden sculpture for the old railway line. Sue Osborne reports

The steering group has commissioned local artist Godfrey Phillips to create a wood carved sculpture for the old railway line area.

The subject will be two carved wooden figures of railwaymen, one standing, one reclining. They'll be close to life-size and Godfrey will be carving them on site. The wood has already been delivered and some clearance arranged in preparation.

Godfrey will be hard at work next Saturday 23 July and anyone is welcome to go and watch while he works. After that he'll be there most days apart from Thursday for 12-15 weeks.
