Elaine chooses the natural world as an important focus for her painting, such as wildflower meadows, hedgerows, cottage and botanic gardens. Her vibrant semi-abstract landscape paintings are personal accounts of her encounters with places, often threatened or vulnerable habitats, based on a vocabulary of non-figurative shapes and gestures.
