Henry Albert Howe was village chemist, stationer, and postmaster from 1895 - originally at 20 Acre End Street, now the home of Oxford Mac. His son Alfred William Howe, who succeeded him as postmaster, moved to the premises shown here in 1921.
Henry Howe also produced many postcards using his own photographs of the village. The story of Eynsham’s postal history is recounted in Eynsham Record 8 (1991), pages 10-17.
